Reporting Bugs
How to send bug reports and feedback for Cogito beta, including what to include and how the Mail handoff works.
When to email
Use this page for both bug reports and general feedback. Send either one to hello@cogito.md.
What helps in a bug report
- What you were trying to do
- What happened instead
- The steps that reproduce it, if you can repeat it
- Whether it happens every time or only sometimes
Useful attachments
- Screenshots or screen recordings
- A sample file, if the issue depends on specific Markdown
- Anything else that makes the problem easier to understand
Cogito does not attach files from inside the app. If you want to include screenshots or sample notes, attach them manually in Mail after the draft opens.
What the app includes automatically
The app opens Mail with a short draft that already includes:
- Cogito version
- Bundle build
- macOS version
- Whether you were running a development or installed build
General feedback
Short notes are useful too. If something feels confusing, slow, awkward, or unexpectedly good, send it. Beta feedback shapes what gets polished next.
