Tabs, Wiki links, and Writing Tools
Link your notes with [[wiki links]], work across multiple notes with tabs, customize important folders, and use Apple Writing Tools without breaking your Markdown.
Highlights
- Note tabs — Open multiple notes side-by-side within each window. Switch between them without losing your place. Command + click on a file to open it in a new tab.
- Wiki links — Type
[[note name]]to link between notes in the same folder. Cogito resolves links as you type and highlights them in the editor. Will implement suggestions next. - Custom folder symbols — Give important folders their own symbol so projects, references, and scratch areas stand out in the sidebar. Those choices travel with the folder.
- Apple Writing Tools support — Summarize, rewrite, and proofread with system Writing Tools while preserving your Markdown formatting.
- Native material sidebar with refined location and folder management
Improved
- Better Markdown preview rendering for nested blocks (lists inside quotes, code inside lists, etc.)
- Smoother quick-create and untitled-note rename flows
- Editor transitions now fade only when switching between source and preview modes
- Copied selections from the source editor paste as plain text correctly now, improving for example copying editor contents into Notion and other apps
Fixed
- Sidebar no longer loses context after creating a new folder
